  15. <p>     SENTENCED. JOSEPH BUTTAFUOCO, 37, Long Island auto-body repairman;
  16. on one count of statutory rape; in Mineola, New York. La commedia
  17. e finita--or so one can only hope after the sentencing last
  18. week of Joey Buttafuoco to six months in jail for the 1991 statutory
  19. rape of the then 16-year-old Amy Fisher, whose subsequent shooting
  20. of Buttafuoco's wife 18 months ago kicked off a tabloid epic.
  21. Judge Jack Mackston meted out to Buttafuoco the maximum penalty
  22. permissible, including a $5,000 fine and five years' probation.
  23. Fisher, who is serving five to 15 years, appeared at the sentencing
  24. to read a lengthy statement in which she both acknowledged her
  25. guilt for what had happened and blamed her behavior on Buttafuoco.
  26. "This man took me to expensive restaurants and cheap motels,"
  27. she said, sounding like the made-for-TV-movie character she
  28. became. With good behavior, Buttafuoco could be released in
  29. four months.
